Random Tuesday: Trips, Baking, and a Pet Club

1.  We had a fun Memorial Weekend. My father in law is visiting from Seattle so we took him around to see two National Heritages, the towns of Kalona and Amana last Saturday.  The weather was awesome, the food in Amana that was family style was good, and cheese tastings were nice.  We bought some yummy cheese in Kalona and sausages in Amana as presents to Seattle folks.

2.  I've been doing a lot of baking for the past couple of days.  I tried peach-mango pie, chocolate chip-raisin-oatmeal cookies, and bread pudding topped with pineapple for the first time.  I still need to adjust some of the baking conditions, but generally, they were all good. 

3.  Wanna join a new club this summer?  Check out my son's newly organized club for his "pets" the (professor) cat and angry pigs!  Pets=stuffed toys because I am allergic to real, live pets:-(
